Christian Researchers and Discernment Ministers are attempting to link Jane Lead with Gnosticism, the occult, ritual sex, racism, and the aberrant teachings of the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) and Manifest Sons of God. This gross mistake stems from a failure of "watchmen" to do their own research. Instead they rely on what others have said or written. Secular and Christian researchers have drawn many incorrect conclusions, and those who follow them are simply repeating their mistakes.
One has to wonder why such unspeakable things are leveled against her--and continue to be--even after they are proven false. (See below.) Jane's only desire was to teach holy souls how press into the full redemption--even the recovery of their lost and faded state, and the opening and enjoyment of Paradise upon the earth again. Therefore isn't it clear that "another" spirit is at work here?
Jane Lead is no enemy to the faithful soul that loves the Lord with all the heart, soul, mind, and strength; whose only desire is to please Him, and live for Him alone. These are the Holy Seekers to whom she addressed her messages over 300 years ago. Nevertheless, Christian Researchers and Discernment Ministers--with little to no true Spiritual insight--continue to condemn her for what she taught. That's understandable. But to condemn her for what she didn’t teach is reprehensible.
Therefore I humbly offer the same counsel that Gamaliel (himself a Pharisee) put before the letter-guardians of his day …
Take heed what you do with the writings of Jane Lead: For if it is the work of a heretic or a crazy woman, it will come to naught. But if it is of God, it cannot be overthrown; and you will find yourself fighting against God.
Was Jane Lead a Gnostic? No. Did she teach Gnosticism? No. Did she teach the "estoteric" and "secret knowledge" of the Gnostics? No. Have Christian Researchers (CRs) and Discernment Ministers (DMs) falsely accused her of Gnosticism? Yes. Have they falsely reported that she taught the esoteric and secret knowledge of the Gnostics? Yes.
3. Accusation: Mass Elimination of the Ungodly by Christians
Did Jane Lead teach a future mass elimination of the ungodly by “elite” Christians? No. Are CR’s and DM’s falsely reporting that she did? Yes. Did she teach a coming Kingdom of vengeance toward ungodly mankind? No. Did she instead teach that the Kingdom will be preceded by an Invisible War against the Beast and his Evil Spirits? Yes.
4. Accusation: "Influenced" Manifest Sons of God and the NAR
Did Jane Lead “influence” the Latter Rain, Manifest Sons of God and New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) movements? No. Have CRs and DMs falsely reported that she did? Yes. Did Latter Rain, Manifest Sons of God, and NAR movements plagiarize and pervert her teachings? Yes.
5. Accusation: Not the author of The 60 Propositions
Have CRs and DMs falsely reported that Jane Lead was not the author of The 60 Propositions? Yes. Due to Jane’s blindness, did members of the Philadelphian Society compile her 60 Propositions with extracts from her other writings, and with her approval? Yes.
Did Jane Lead teach a coming Melchizedek Priesthood? Yes. Are Latter Rain, Manifest Sons of God, and NAR versions of the Melchizedek Priesthood based on the writings of Jane Lead? No. Are CRs and DMs falsely reported that the Latter Rain, Manifest Sons of God, and NAR versions of this Priesthood is based upon the writings of Jane Lead? Yes.
Did Jane state that every Christian is included in the Melchizedek Order? No. Are CRs and DMs falsely stating that she did? Yes. Have certain Church leaders taken it upon themselves to advance this Melchizekek Order without the permission and cooperation of the God-Head? Yes.
13. Accusation: England as Superior Leader of a New Gospel
Did Jane view her country England as the superior head and leader of a New Gospel that she preached? No. Have CRs and DMs falsely reported that she did? Yes.
Was Jane Lead a universalist who believed that everyone will be saved no matter what they do or what they believe? No. Have CR's and DM's falsely reported that she was? Yes. Did she instead teach Universal Redemption: that all will ultimately be saved exclusively through the Atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ? Yes.
Are the "apostles" and "prophets" of the New Apostolic Reformation based on the teachings of Jane Lead? No. Are CR's and DM's falsely reporting that they are? Yes.
18. Accusation: Visions were from the occult world
Did Jane receive her ideas and visions from the occult world? No. Are CRs and DMs falsely reporting that she did? Yes. Did she personally state that she received her visions and prophesies directly from the God-Head? Yes.
Did Jane Lead teach a "Serpent Seed Doctrine:" that a sexual union between Eve and the Serpent produced an evil and tainted bloodline? No. Are CR's falsely reporting that she did? Yes.
Was Jane Lead the originator of Dispensational theology? No. Are Christian Researchers falsely reporting that she was? Yes. Is Dispensationalism a heresy? No. Are CR's and DM's falsely reporting that it is heresy? Yes.
Is Jane Lead the source of the NAR's teaching about a Second Pentecost? No. Are CR's and DM's falsely reporting that she is? Yes. Did Jane Lead teach about a Second Pentecost? Yes. Is it the same as the NAR's? No.
22. Accusation: Source of NAR and Latter Rain Movements
Are the New Apostolic Reformation, Latter Rain, Joel's Army, and Manifest Sons of God movements all based on the writings of Jane Lead? No. Are CR's and DM's falsely reporting they are? Yes.
24. Accusation: Connection with Secrets of Enoch, UFO's
Did Jane Lead author a book in 1700 titled The Heavenly Watchers, which subject is similar to the book The Secrets of Enoch? No. Are Christian Researchers falsely reporting that she did? Yes. Through this non-existent writing are Christian Researchers attempting to connect Jane Lead with the present UFO phenomenon? Yes.
25. Accusation: Learned Universal Redemption from someone else.
Did Jane Lead learn about Universal Redemption from German theologian Johann Wilhelm Petersen? No. Are CR's falsely reporting that she did? Yes. Instead, did Johann Petersen learn from from Mrs. Lead? Yes.
Accusation: End Time Messenger. Did Jane Lead teach that we must have an "end-time messenger" who is to replace the voice of the Holy Spirit as speaking into our hearts? No. Are CR's falsely reporting that she did? Yes.
Accusation: Divine Healing Movement (Originator). Was Jane Lead the originator of the Divine Healing Movement? No. Are CR's falsely reporting that she was? Yes. Was Jane a "divine healer?" No. Did she hold or promote divine healing services? No.
Accusation: Dominionist and Kingdom Now Theology.Did Jane Lead teach Dominionism and Kingdom Now Theology? No. Have CR's and DM's falsely reported that she did? Yes.
Accusation: Medium and channel of the occult world. Was Jane Lead a "medium," a "channel," a "transmittter" and "receiver" of the esoteric and occult world. No. Have CRs and DMs accused her of being a medium, a channel, a transmitter and receiver of the esoteric and occult? Yes.
Accusation: Messiah will be a Gentile. Did Jane Lead teach that the end-time Messiah will be a Gentile? No. Are CR's falsely reporting that she did? Yes.
Accusation: Ongoing Revelation: Did Jane Lead receive her concept of "ongoing revelation" from the esoteric world? No. Are CR's and DM's falsely reporting that she did? Yes.
Accusation: Perfectionism. Is the NAR and Latter Rain view of "perfection" based on the teachings of Jane Lead? No. Are CR's and DM's falsely reporting that it is? Yes. Did she teach Christian Perfection? Yes. Did she also emphasize Christian holiness, obedience and perfection as taught in the Bible? Yes.
Accusation: Seven Successive Church Ages (Originator). Was Jane Lead the originator of the teaching of the Seven Successive Ages of church history? No. Are CR's falsely reporting that she was? Yes. Can this teaching be traced back to the early Church period? Yes.
Accusation: Spiritualism. Was Jane Lead a spiritualist? No. Have CR's and DM's falsely accused her of spiritualism? Yes.
Accusation: Theurgy. Was Jane Lead a theurgist who practiced ceremonial magic and rituals? No. Have CR's and DMs accused her of theurgy? Yes
