Answer:It is not my custom to enter into unprofitable disputes about Jane Lead. Nor does she need anyone to defend her teachings: for they speak for themselves and have their designated audience. The goal of Spirit’s Day Studies is to educate and edify—not to bruise another’s faith in the Lord, or to subvert their confidence in the Holy Scriptures. For I understand the reasons why Christians oppose her. Therefore I am willing to answer constructive and productive questions—even from those who disagree with her teachings.
However, I do not accommodate “Christians” that plagiarized her writings, pervert her doctrines, or misrepresent her teachings. Nor do I engage in contentious debates with heresy hunters, those self-appointed “letter-guardians” that know nothing of the Spirit of Christ; and who, under the pretext of doing God a service, make it their mission to tear down others. Their time would be better spent preparing their hearts for the Lord’s soon return. A good heart with bad doctrine is better than a bad heart with good doctrine: For a good heart is teachable. But a bad heart is stubborn, prideful, and blind—and cannot see that it’s headed for a fall. Saul must become Paul. It’s all a matter of the heart.
